Chestertown Physical Therapy and Rehab, Inc. is currently building a new facility located on High Street in Chestertown. This is a building that we have been planning for almost 2 years and our projected grand opening will be in the Fall of 2008. Our architect: Dunning and Associates. Our builder: Wilson/Taylor

Q. Will you move your outpatient therapy office to the new facility?

A. Yes, we will be moving our therapy offices to this new state of the art facility. We will have more space, more equipment and more treatment rooms to better treat our patients and optimize their outcomes. There will also be a classroom for lunch and learn classes that the community will be able to attend for free.

Q. What else will be there?

A. AQUAFIT!!! This building will have over 23 thousand square feet so will have a lot more space. We are going to have a new aquatic/fitness and wellness business located on the first and second floors of the building. There will be a 30’x50’ heated therapeutic pool where we will offer open swim times and aquatic classes. This pool will also have the capability to walk or swim against regulated currents. There will be a large spa (hot tub), locker rooms (female, male and family), weight rooms with Freemotion equipment, a cardio room, an aerobics studio that will house classes such as step, pilates, yoga, tai chi, power yoga and many others. We are including a massage therapy suite on the second floor.

Q. Will your physical and occupational therapy patients be able to use the pool and fitness club?

A. Yes, definitely. As we are one company we will be able to offer our rehab patients the most cutting edge treatment plans. Patients will have access to the pool and fitness center while in treatment with their therapist.
 

Q. Will you offer memberships?

A. Yes, Aquafit will be open to the public. Please return to our site in the mid-summer of 2008 for types of memberships and classes we will be offering. We will start our marketing in the late summer months and brochures will be distributed in the county. Please email us if you would like to be on our mailing list for pre-opening membership applications.

Q. What makes Aquafit so special?

A. This fitness/wellness business will be run by physical therapists with masters and doctorate degrees who are the most qualified to help the baby boomer generation become as fit as possible. The physical therapist understands the physiology and anatomy of the body and best understands all the precautions and modifications necessary that come with aging. Aquafit will also have highly qualified personal trainers for individual and group instruction, nutritionists and dieticians to help you achieve your most optimal weight and health status. We will have both land and water exercise!! As a member you can look forward to the clubs version of the Biggest Loser, Boot camps, small group personal training, after school fitness/nutrition programming for kids and many other fun programs to help you achieve your goals.

We will also offer a program in which we can monitor your fitness progress and blood pressure and can keep in contact with your primary care physician so they know how well you are doing in your quest for wellness.
